TITLE: Operations Officer
LOCATION: UN Global Compact Network Thailand, True Digital Park, Sukhumvit 101, Bangkok, Thailand
HELP US DELIVER THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS IN THAILAND
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the collective plan of global commitments required to end extreme poverty and hunger, tackle climate change and create a more peaceful, just, and equitable world by 2030. This is a significant multi-stakeholder effort which cannot be delivered by Governments and Civil Society alone. The actions, innovations and finances of the private sector are critical to our ability to deliver.
This is where the UN Global Compact comes in: we are the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative with over 18,000 participating companies in 162 countries, and 69 Local Networks around the world. We enable and support companies across all sectors, geographies and sizes in their efforts to be more responsible and sustainable, and help the world achieve the SDGs.
Today fully 84% of participating companies have activities to advance the SDGs. However, the world needs more ambition and scale from the private sector: only 39% of companies have corporate goals aligned to societal or environmental needs; only 46% companies have aligned their strategy to societal or environmental needs; and only 37% are designing business models to meet societal or environmental needs.
We are an ambitious team, energized behind our mission of mobilizing a global movement of responsible companies and organizations to create the world we want. Our ambition is to accelerate and scale the global collective impact of business by upholding the Ten Principles and delivering the SDGs through accountable companies and ecosystems that enable change.
UN Global Compact Network Thailand (GCNT) plays a pivotal role in this global effort. As a Local Network of the UN Global Compact, we bring together businesses, governments, and civil society in Thailand to collaborate on initiatives that advance the SDGs. Our network provides a platform for Thai companies to align their operations with the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and contribute to national and global sustainability goals. Through our work, we support businesses in their journey to embed sustainability into their strategies and practices, helping them be part of the solution to the world’s most pressing challenges.
